Meenakshi Seshadri, the most paid and most alluring Bollywood actress of the 1990s, caught Kumar’s attention more. They first connected at the premiere of Mahesh Bhatt’s Bollywood movie, Jurm. Sanu sang the well-known song “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye,” which featured Meenakshi. Sanu was utterly overwhelmed by her beauty. They first began dating at that point. For around three years, they kept their relationship a secret, until in 1993, Rita, Sanu’s wife, noticed something was off about Sanu’s interview with his secretary. She stated: “Despite having numerous girlfriends, Kumar is currently dating Meenakshi Seshadri, a well-known actress.”

When confronted, Kumar initially denied having an affair with her but then admitted it. There then ensued a nasty legal scenario. After that, in 1994, he and Rita got divorced, with Rita keeping custody of their three kids while Kumar had access to his children’s rights only by making a set monthly alimony payment.
