Rapper Krishna Kaul, also known by his stage name KR$NA and formerly as YoungProzpekt, hails from Gurugram in the Delhi NCR region of India.Under the alias Prozpekt, he was one of the first rappers to appear in the Indian hip hop scene in the middle of the 2000s.In a brief cameo, he played himself in the 2019 Bollywood film Gully Boy.He is well-known in the Desi Hip-Hop scene for his writing, technical prowess, and infamous beefs.

Krishna Kaul was born to a Kashmiri Pandit family in Delhi on October 4, 1987.He was raised and attended school there for a while during a portion of his childhood.At the age of fourteen, Kaul began rapping in an effort to fit in with the other students at his London school.
Career
Kaul began writing songs in 2006 and posting them to his MySpace page. By 2008, he had a modest following in New Delhi and had been featured by artists from the United States and Canada.When the music video for \”Kaisa Mera Desh\” was released in 2010, it gave him his first taste of success. It was the first Indian hip-hop song to appear on YouTube and quickly rose to the #2 spot among the most popular music videos in India.Additionally, he collaborated with the global NGO Save The Children to release the song \”Vijay\” in 2013.

After a few infrequent underground releases, Kaul changed his stage name from Prozpekt to KR$NA after signing a record deal with Universal Music in 2013.
His debut album Sellout, an all-English effort on Universal Music, was released in May 2014. Its lead single, \”Last Night,\” peaked at number five on the Vh1 Music Charts in India.
Kaul became the first hip-hop artist in India to embark on a band-supported, five-city album tour.

After that, the title song \”Sellout\” music video was released, but due to lacklustre marketing and constricting label budgets, it failed to make a significant impact. After a two-year break, Kaul returned in 2016 with the Hindi film \”Vyanjan.\”11As a result of the song\’s success, he joined the artist management company DNH Artists (now Kalamkaar) in 2017 and later joined as a partner in 2018.
