Dilin Nair, better known by his stage name Raftaar, is an Indian rapper, lyricist, dancer, TV personality, and music composer who is most closely associated with Hindi and Punjabi music. He was born on November 16, 1988.
He began his career as a dancer.In 2008, he started his rap career by recording songs and posting them on social media with Lil Golu and Young Amli (now known as Ikka).He then joined the Mafia Mundeer crew and began working with Yo Yo Honey Singh.Later, Raftaar left the group due to credit related issues. Ankit Khanna helped him, and after introducing him to the Punjabi band RDB, they signed him to their record label, Three Records.Raftaar joined Manjeet Ral soon after the RDB members parted ways (now known as Manj Musik).After signing with Zee Music Company, he began his solo career in 2016. At the Brit Asia TV Music Awards, he and Manj Musik shared the Best Urban Single prize for their song \”Swag Mera Desi.\”He began presiding over the MTV Hustle, Dance India Dance, and Roadies reality competitions in 2019.
Childhood and Personal life
In Trivandrum, Kerala (now Thiruvananthapuram), Raftaar was conceived by a Malayali couple from Delhi.The sister of the Indian television actors Karan Vohra and Kunal Vohra, Kamal Vohra, was the bride of Raftaar when they were wed in December 2016. In 2020, after separating, they filed for divorce.Due to COVID pandemic delays, the legal proceedings were finally concluded on October 6, 2022.

Raftaar rose to fame after Manj Musik\’s 2013 release of his song \”Swag Mera Desi.\”Translation: \”Ab yeh karke dikhao\”Now try and do this) was a jab at Yo Yo Honey Singh in the song.The phrase \”Ab yeh karke dikhao\” was previously used in Yo Yo Honey Singh\’s song \”Party With The Bhoothnath,\” which sparked a public argument between the two rappers.At the 2014 Brit Asia TV Music Awards, \”Swag Mera Desi\” won Best Urban Song.
